Booking information

The houses featured on this web-site are offered for let on a weekly basis, usually Saturday to Saturday (4 p.m. on the date of arrival to 10 a.m. on the date of departure) unless otherwise stated, subject to the Hiring Terms and Conditions detailed within. Please note that the prices may be subject to change and do not necessarily infer availability.  Please ensure that you telephone the Lodge and Lettings Manager on 07769 313755 or email on  beforehand to get the relevant gate codes for the Estate.

We would like to discuss individual guests requirements to ensure they stay in the best house to suit their needs. Once you have made your provisional telephone reservation, fill in the booking form and send it off with the appropriate payment to the address on the form to arrive with us within five days. This will ensure prompt attention to your booking. You may also contact us by e-mail to make any enquiries.

In all cases, we ask for a Good Housekeeping Deposit of £500.00 prior to the commencement of each holiday, should you wish to bring a pet the deposit will increase to £1,000.00. This is returnable to the hirer less the cost of making good any damage or loss to the property or for excessive cleaning found necessary following the period of occupation. This deposit is payable to Ben Alder Estate.

We have tried to make paying for your holiday as simple as possible. The initial payment is 30% of the total hire charge paid to Ben Alder Estate. The balance is payable no later than eight weeks prior to commencement of the holiday. If you are booking within eight weeks of the start of your holiday, payment in full is required with your booking form. An Information Sheet including directions, gate codes and key instructions is issued on receipt of the final payment.

Overseas visitors are most welcome and because of the difficulties distance can impose we allow up to seven days for bookings to be confirmed from the date a telephone reservation is made.

Payments from overseas should be made by bank transfer or an international money order in Sterling. Any bank charges incurred will be payable by you.

Please note that, once a booking has been confirmed, you are liable for the whole cost of the holiday. If you cancel the booking we will endeavour to re-let the property and, if successful, we will make a full refund, less an administration charge of £55. Accordingly, it is important that cancellations are intimated to us by telephone followed by immediate written confirmation.

Towels and bed linen are provided (this may be duvets or blankets and sheets). Each property is furnished and equipped to cater for the stated permitted occupancy and also includes pots and pans, crockery, cutlery, iron and ironing board. Major items of domestic equipment are listed in individual property details. Details are thought to be correct at the time of going to press. However if any items are of particular importance, e.g. dishwasher, microwave, video, please check with us beforehand.

In certain areas TV channel choice and reception may be poor.  Freesat are available in some properties. Please check beforehand if this is important.

In many areas of rural Scotland water is by private supply which comes from peaty grounds and, even when it comes from a mains supply, can be very brown. This is especially noticeable after heavy rainfall. Although unsightly, we believe it is safe to drink. However, for peace of mind you may prefer to boil water for drinking or purchase bottled water. All our properties have UV and solid filters to ensure safe drinking water.

A maximum of two Pets are welcome details must be supplied on the booking form. Pets must be kept under strict control at all times and are permitted on the ground floor of the property only. Outside external kennels are available.
Pets are strictly not allowed on beds and upholstered furniture.

All properties are cleaned thoroughly between each let. However, as only a limited period of time is available to clean properties, it is a condition of your let that you leave the property and its contents clean and tidy.

Smoking is not permitted in any of our rental properties.

Camusericht Lodge is let including 3 hours daily housekeeping. Should you wish the services of a chef/cook this can be arranged by contacting the Office.  All food and drink is charged to the Client at cost.

By arrangement the other lodges can be let fully or part catered and with additional housekeeping if required.

All our properties have telephone except Corrievarkie Lodge. Guests staying in the lodges will be required to pay for all calls by appropriate means.

It is important to us that you enjoy your holiday and every effort has been made to ensure this. However, in the unlikely event of dissatisfaction with the property or any subsequent problem, you must immediately contact us so that the opportunity to rectify the problem is given.
