Gate Lodge

The Gate Lodge is accessed along a private road and located in a tranquil setting on the northern shore of Loch Ericht. It has comfortable, elegant public rooms far beyond the ordinary, with unique décor, deep sofas, and grand granite fireplaces. The warm and welcoming ambience flows through to the four sumptuous bedrooms, each unique in character. There are excellent views from every room, not least the turreted 360◦ viewing gallery at the top of the tower.

This luxurious haven is an ideal choice for a peaceful and relaxing break and is marvellously located to experience some of the local attractions and activities on offer. With closer access to the otherwise remote Ben Alder Mountain, it is a perfect location for hillwalking parties seeking a luxurious haven to return to at the end of an active day.

Luxury Bedrooms

Gate Lodge offers a selection of beautifully appointed bedrooms, each with its own character and stunning views of the loch. The beautifully decorated dining area, with its large table seating eight in front of another open fire, opens onto two south‑facing verandas that capture sweeping views of the loch and the magnificent mountains beyond.

A dedicated television room provides a relaxed retreat with comfortable seating, a TV, while still offering excellent views. The ground floor hall leads to a striking staircase and viewing gallery, creating a sense of grandeur and connection to the surrounding landscape.

Bedroom three, with twin beds, is dressed in warm contrasting fabrics and offers direct loch views, complemented by a fresh en‑suite bathroom with bath and shower over. Bedroom four, also a twin, is decorated in calming buttermilk cream tones with mixed print fabrics, comfortable seating, and dual‑aspect windows showcasing loch and mountain views; it benefits from its own dedicated bathroom with both bath and separate shower.

Traditional Country Sports

Deer Stalking

Ben Alder Estate is one of the best places in Scotland to partake in one of the country’s oldest pass times: Stag and Hind stalking. Moving up the hillside with one of our expert stalkers, your party will get the chance to make the memory of a lifetime.

The Ben Alder Estate mixed game shoot is set in the Allt An’t Sluic glen, a dramatic valley framed by heather-clad hills just outside Dalwhinnie. The deep ridge and varied terrain provides an exciting challenge with a mix of high, fast-flying birds for an exhilarating day’s sport.
Simulated Shoot

Want the thrill of authentic action but in a controlled environment? Simulated game shooting offers an experience that closely replicates a traditional driven day, blending the excitement of clay pigeon shooting with the authenticity of a real game shoot.
